No iOS 6 jailbreak for months?

Cyril aka pod2g took the stage at JailbreakCon today. After telling everybody about the exploits of iOS 4 and 5, he said that there is no working jailbreak for the iOS 6.

JailbreakCon, is the world’s only jailbreak convention. Many thought that Cyril and the Chronic Dev Team would release a working jailbreak for iOS 6, but this was not the case.

The iPhone 5 running Cydia we saw about a week ago, was in fact a “failbreak” as Cyril described it. It cannot be released to the public in its current state.

“Taller screens like Cydia too” according to Paul famously known as chpwn to the jailbreak world. Pod2G told us yesterday that this jailbreak was in fact a “failbreak” and cannot be released to the public in its current state.

Does this mean that iOS 6 won’t ever be jailbroken? No, eventually it will. There is still a lot of work to be done, and it might take weeks or months but the the good news is that all of the hackers at JailbreakCon seem more motivated than ever.
