How To Get Free Books on your iPad

One of the main reasons of buying the iPad is to read books on that gorgeous screen. Well, we all know how overly priced at those books on the iTunes store. Well, today I’ll tell you how to get free books on your iPad:

Books in the iTunes store and you don’t get a chance to at least see the whole book and check if it’s worthwhile or not. To find out how to install books for free on your iOS device, continue reading below.

(This method also works on other iOS devices, but the screen is too small on the iPhone or iPod to read a book.)

Disclaimer: This guide is for testing and educational purposes only, not to encourage piracy. We encourage you to buy books from the iTunes store rather than installing these unofficial and pirated version. If you proceed with the installation of this pirated book, I strongly urge you to purchase the real book once your testing is complete. The author spent time and dedication writing this book for his/her readers, so please help support the author.

What you need:

A jailbroken iOS device running iOS 3.2 or later  (Learn how to jailbreak your iOS device here.)

Cydia

iBooks (You can download iBooks from here)

Xsellize repo

An active Wi-Fi connection

Getting books with a Jailbroken Device:

First of all, you need to install iBooks on your device. The link for iBooks is given above. You can also download it from the App Store.

Once iBooks is installed, open up Cydia on your iOS device. Navigate to Sources>Edit>Add and type in the following repo:

Type in “cydia.xsellize.com”

When you have typed in the repo, press Add source and then Add anyway. This repo is a trusted one.

Once the repo has installed, navigate to Sections. Scroll down, and near the end, you will see a section named X Books.

In this section, you can select any book you want. Click on the book that you want to download and click on install. For example, I want to download Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on the iPad 😀

When the book has installed, you will need to restart your device. After restarting your device, there will be an icon on your home screen with the name of the book. (For some people, like me,  there will be no icon on your home screen. For that you need to install an X Books fix. You can do that here.)

The book that you installed will have an icon of the home page.

Tap the icon and it will open in Safari. Click on “Open in iBooks”

Click on “Open in iBooks”

Congratulations, you can now start reading your book. Happy readings!!!

Reading books is awesome on the iPad.

  2. Its like you learn my thoughts! You seem to grasp a lot approximately this, such as you wrote the book in it or something. I feel that you simply could do with a few % to force the message house a little bit, but instead of that, that is wonderful blog. A fantastic read. I will certainly be back.

  3. This site truly has all the info I wanted concerning this subject and didn’t know who to ask.
