X Books Fix for your iPad

Many of you might have read my article on How to get free books on your iPad via X Books. Well for many people, including myself, X Books didn’t work until I had installed a fix for it. So today, I’ll tell you how to install the X Books fix on your iPad.

Right now, we will be installing cracked versions of both iFile and Safari Download Manager for testing purposes only. However, I encourage you to buy the full app after testing it.

Disclaimer: This guide is for testing and educational purposes only, not to encourage piracy. We encourage you to purchase iFile and Safari Download Manager rather than installing these cracked versions. If you proceed with the installation of these cracked apps, I strongly urge you to purchase the real versions once your testing is complete. The developers spent time and money creating these apps, so please help support the developers.

What you need:

A jailbroken iPad running iOS 3.1.2 or later

An active Wi-Fi connection

iFile – Available for $ 4 in the Cydia Store

Safari Download Manager – Available for $ 5 in the Cydia Store

sinfuliphonerepo.com (For cracked versions of iFile and Safari Download Manager.)

iBooks – Available from here

First of all, we will install the sinfuliphone repo. Go to Cydia>Sources>Edit>Add and type in the following link:

Type in “sinfuliphonerepo.com”

After entering the repo, press Add source and then press Add Anyway. Once the repo has installed, search for iFile Cracked. This is the app that we have to download:

iFile Cracked

Click on the app and install it. After installing, your device may reboot. Now that iFile cracked has been installed, we will proceed to install Safari Download Manager.

Search for “Safari Download Manager Cracked” in Cydia. This is the app that we have to download:

Install this. Now that we have installed both SDM and iFile, we will proceed on to the next step.

Open up Safari on your iPad. Visit this link, and it will take you to a website Mediafire. We will download the fix from here in the form of a .deb file. For those of you who don’t about it, a .deb file is the extension of the Debian software package format.

Click Download. After you have clicked Download, a pop up window will open. Click “Download’.

After that on the upper left of your screen next to the address bar, you will see a new icon and a number. Click this to get the progress of your download.

It is a small file, so it should download in a few seconds. Once downloaded, click on the file , and then click on “Open in iFile”.

First click on the file.
Then click on “Open in iFile”

Now, iFile will open. Click on the file that you downloaded.

Then click on “Installer”

After that, you should get a screen similar to this one.

Once the package has installed, press Done. Now you can download any book from the X Books section in Cydia. It should work. Now, happy readings!

Reading books is awesome on the iPad.

  1. I’m really enjoying the theme/design of your site. Do you ever run into any internet browser compatibility issues? A number of my blog visitors have complained about my site not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Chrome. Do you have any recommendations to help fix this problem?
