What does Sony have planned for ‘Game Day 2013?’

The game company has posted a 16-second teaser video promoting Game Day 2013, and it might just relate to God of War.

Sony has set the gaming world abuzz with a teaser video promoting “Game Day 2013” on February 1.

The game company yesterday uploaded a video to its Playstation-branded Youtube page  showing a woman in a dress walking toward the camera as what appears to be ash is falling from the sky. Right before the end, an image appears of a yellow eye.

The YouTube video is entitled “Game Day 2013 Teaser” and provides no explanation of what is shown. At the end, it displays the date “February 1, 2013.”

Gamers have started speculating on what the video might mean. The vast majority of them believe the ash and the way the woman was dressed hint at a new God of War announcement. Gamers say that everything about the video suggests God of War – the Grecian clothing, the Greek-style landscape, the ashes, the eye. The only question that remains is – what exactly are they teasing about God of War?

Before you get too excited, it’s probably just a teaser for a live-action ad, just like they mysteriously teased the Playstation All-Stars ads. There’s always the off-chance that this is an elaborate teaser for a Vita game, or that the video was secretly rendered on the PS4, but we think it’s an ad.

For its part, Sony has remained tight-lipped on its plans for “Game Day 2013.”  We exactly don’t know what Sony is planning for Game Day 2013, but we’ll be sure to update this story when we have more information.  Nevertheless, we’re also hoping for a PS4 at Destination Playstation next month.
